Harley-Davidson is recalling certain model year 2010 FXDF motorcycles with fork leg assemblies (lH P/N 48622-08, RH P/N 48623-08) manufactured from February 29 through February 9, 2010. (Editors Note: These dates are assumed incorrect.)

These fork leg assemblies may have been incorrectly assembled using the wrong springs.

Equipped with fully adjustable Showa® front and rear suspension components, the 2011 XR1200X can be dialed in to match rider weight, riding style and road conditions. The 2011 Harley-Davidson XR1200X combines this premium suspension with enhanced front brakes and the responsive punch of a high-compression, 1200cc Evolution® V-Twin engine in a dynamic, street-performance motorcycle.



With a tank and tail section designed to evoke the legendary Harley-Davidson XR750 - the king of the gritty American flat-track scene the XR1200X puts its mechanical character on display. Wide flat-track bars and rearset footpegs position an assertive rider for active control. The XR1200X has a blacked-out powertrain and exhaust, revised tank graphics, and black wheels with an orange rim pinstripe.

Harley-Davidson XR1200X Features

Showa Big Piston Front fork (BPF) eliminates many of the internal components used in a cartridge-type fork, resulting in lighter overall fork weight. The large-diameter of the BPF internal piston allows a reduction in damping pressure for outstanding feedback and smooth action. Rebound and compression damping may be fine tuned with adjuster screws located on top of the fork bolts. The spring pre-load is adjusted with a M5 hex screw on the axle holders.

Showa rear shocks feature 36mm pistons with piggy-back nitrogen charged reservoirs. The compression damping may be adjusted with a knob on top of the reservoir. Rebound is adjusted with a thumb wheel on the lower clevis. Rear spring pre-load is also adjustable.

Nissin® dual front brakes feature 292mm full-floating rotors and four-piston calipers.

Isolation-mounted XL Evolution 1200 cc V-Twin engine with black powdercoat finish features downdraft Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI), high-performance camshafts, precision oil-cooled cylinder heads and a large-capacity oil cooler. Upswept, high-volume 2-1-2 straight-shot exhaust system with satin black finish offers extra cornering clearance.

Chassis features a high-performance designed tubular mild steel frame. The rigid, cast-aluminum swingarm is engineered to enhance handling.

Dunlop® Qualifier D209 tires were designed specifically for the XR1200X.

Three-spoke lightweight cast-aluminum wheels, 18-inch front / 17-inch rear, are finished in gloss black with an orange pinstripe on the rim.

Wide, black dirt-track handlebar for enhanced steering leverage and comfort.

Introduced in 2010 for export markets only, the XR1200X will be available through Harley-Davidson dealers in the United States as a 2011 model. Equipped with fully-adjustable Showa® front and rear suspension components, the 2011 XR1200X can be dialed in to match rider weight, riding style and road conditions. Powered by the largest displacement V-Twin engine offered by Harley-Davidson, this potent touring bike is loaded with sparkling chrome, electrifying paint and fresh custom-styling ideas. The 2011 Harley-Davidson FLHXSE2 CVO Street Glide® production, is will be limited to approximately 3,700 units assembled at the Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations facility in York, Pa. Vintage bike purified, simple, and rough around the edges, making them the perfect base for building custom bikes. Thunderbike has been busy working on a custom antique bicycle itself, since rebuilt, restored and adapted to the 1951 Harley-Davidson EL Pan Head.

Thunderbike start by completely stripping the frame and body, and put in a matte black undercoat. During this base coat is the highlights of orange and white, also in matte finish. Paint and striping design completed by Kruse. It gives the bike a modern look while maintaining the feel of vintage. The vintage, single-rider, custom seat built by Maas Sitz Leder.


At the front and rear, this custom Harley EL TB Vegas features wheels wrapped in Firestone rubber. Furthermore rim of each, you get a K-tech disc brakes to help bring vintage bike to a stop much more quickly than the factory drum brakes can.

Mounted to the frame is a 74-cubic-inch, twin motorized Pan cylinder head. This motor has been completely gutted and rebuilt with the original manufacturers specifications and all brightwork has been re-coated nickel. This twin-cylinder powerplant features S & S Holiday E fuel system, S & S manifold, air filter Classical TB, and TB flying pan Spezial exhaust system coated matte black.

Driving power to the rear wheels is a system-to-chain belt-drive, mix a bit of old and new. Thunderbike has not released pricing on custom bike, but were pretty sure that it will range somewhere between expensive and totally outrageous. What we do know is that this bike looks really awesome and is currently available in Germany.
