BMW K 1200R
The BMW K1200R is a naked supersport motorcycle manufactured by BMW producing 163 hp (122 kW) @ 10,250 rpm from its transverse-mounted 1,157 cc inline-4 engine with torque of 94 lbf·ft (127 N·m) @ 8,250 rpm. Acceleration to 60 mph (97 km/h) from a standing start is claimed to be 2.6 seconds. more news BMW 1600

The cylinder block is canted toward the front wheel by 55 degrees to reduce the entire motorcycle’s centre of gravity, allowing intake components to be placed above the engine, directly below the fuel tank. The optional electronic suspension adjustment (ESA) system allows the rider to electronically adjust for different road conditions and varying loads for an individualized riding style. A three-way catalytic converter in the exhaust is present to meet low emissions. As an option, the bike is available with ABS brakes.
In 2007 the K1200R Sport was launched, which is identical other than the addition of a small fairing.[1]
At the time of launch BMW Motorrad claimed that the K1200R was the worlds most powerful naked bike. However, this is no longer true following the launch of the 184 hp (137 kW) Suzuki B-King. British magazine RiDE tested the B-King and K1200R together and found that despite the extra power of the B-King, the K1200R was faster accelerating and had a 9 mph higher top speed.[2]
In 2008, BMW USA added the Apple Green colour option to the K1200R lineup. In other markets, such as the United Kingdom, Sunny Yellow, Dark Graphite and White Aluminium are available as colour options.
At the end of 2008, the K1200R was replaced by the larger displacement K1300R, which features a 1,293 cc engine producing 175 bhp (130 kW), torque of 103 lb·ft (140 N·m).
As of November 2009[update], neither the K1200R nor the K1300R are offered for sale in the USA.

BMW Recalls 2007 2010 F650GS Motorcycles for Brake Problem
BMW is recalling certain 2007 through 2010 F 650 GS motorcycles manufactured from November 2006 through January 2010.
A washer may interfere with the front disc brake fasteners torque. As a result, over time, a fastener or multiple fasteners could become loose, allowing the brake disc to become loose.
1835 units are affected.

BMW Recalls 2008 R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure for Electrical System Problem
BMW has issued a recall of certain 2008 R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure motorcycles.
In certain situations, such as high generator speeds combined with large demands for electrical current, spurious signals could emerge within the motorcycles electrical system. If this were to occur, it could affect the pressure sensor signals of the anti-lock brake system (ABS) control unit. If this happened, the ABS could switch off; However, in such a situation, a warning lamp would illuminate. Normal braking would still be available to slow and stop the motorcycle.
BMW has not announced the number of units in the recall.

2011 BMW F800R First Ride Review Price Feature
2011 BMW F800R First Ride Review, Price ,Feature

BMW know that the market for this bike in the UK is limited; over half of their worldwide sales of middleweights are made up of just France, Spain and Italy and the UK market is comparitively small at just 4%, so youd wonder why theyre putting a lot of effort into this new middleweight class, a class saturated by bikes like the Yamaha FZ6, Honda Hornet and Suzuki Gladius. But as weve seen from their recent S1000RR Superbike, BMW like a challenge.
The F800R fits into BMWs Urban category, alongside bikes like the R1200R and K1300R, but unlike those models, the F800R runs a parallel twin. The bike has been designed over two years to take on this competitive class, while costs have been kept to a minimum. Ill run you through the areas I think BMW have skimped on to save money, but first I want to talk about the engine.
Despite being an 800, the engine doesnt make as much power as its smaller capacity middleweight rivals, but it does produce more torque and on the road that translates into smoother drive and a less manic ride. The engine pulls from as low as two-thousand revs and even if youre tickling along in top gear at 40mph, itll pull surprisingly hard, without being laboured. During running in periods, BMW claim they got 195 miles to a tank, which is on par with an R1200GS and I dont doubt this. On my ride, after 80 miles the fuel gauge wasnt even at half full.
In line with the demands of a dynamic roadster, the chassis is designed for excellent handling, agility and steering precision, and therefore maximum riding fun on winding country roads, though without compromises in terms of directional stability at high speeds, for example when riding on the motorway.
The streetbike freestyle world champion Christian Pfeiffer provides a foretaste of just how playfully the rider can handle the F 800 R. For over two years now he has ridden a version of the F 800 S exclusively tailored to his needs at international competitions and shows: the similarity of this bike to the current F 800 R is by no means coincidental. In future, the motorcycle acrobat will be able to demonstrate his skills on a machine based on the new F 800 R.
But the new F 800 R boasts more than just sporting talent: in the very best tradition of BMW it also possesses classic virtues such as outstanding seating comfort for rider and pillion passenger as well as an exemplary level of safety. For example, the F 800 R is optionally fitted with an ABS whose newly developed pressure sensor provides an even finer regulation of the system and therefore even greater safety – especially in connection with sporty riding.

2011 BMW K 1300 S
The 2011 BMW K-1300-S supreme power with the sportiest of understatement. Why not try it out right away! With this jet, the whole concept of speed moves into a new dimension. This in-line 4-cylinder delivers its power in such a way that you can almost feel it when standing still. That’s because within the engine speed ranges in which you move more than 80% of the time i.e. the lower and medium speed ranges it delivers performance from the first yard. The real thing. And in terms of safety features, this machine is unique: ABS as standard with ASC and ESA optional. And the extras are amazing: race through the gears with the automatic shift function, pure racing in view with the 2D dashboard.

2011 BMW K-1300-S Features
Enjoying dynamics requires safety down to the last detail. And that is something that BMW Motorrad has been constantly reinventing for more than 20 years. The K-1300-S enjoys an excellent reputation when it comes to the fastest connection from A to B – and it fully deserves to:
High tech for everyday use
The K-1300-S is a unique interpretation of the speedbike theme. It represents a union of fascinating and innovative high-performance engineering combined with excellent all-round and everyday suitability, not to mention excellent safety.
175 hp and 140 Nm: power and understatement
Not that this jet was ever slow, but in comparison with its predecessor, its engine performance and torque specifications have been increased even more, something which, this being a genuine BMW, it bears discreetly. After all, it is a superior pioneer in its class.
The very latest streamline shape.
Maybe there is such a thing as perfect aerodynamics. And perfect design. The K 1300 S combines both of these with its own line, one which others will spend a long time searching for.
The seat of speed.
Like barely any other speedbike, the K-1300-S has managed to make the connection between the stable chassis characteristics of a supersport machine and ergonomic design for thousands of kilometres. Of course. It is a BMW.
Individual safety.
The diverse optional extras make the K-1300-S even more individual. In particular, the new ESA II, which allows the rider to configure his chassis settings on the move, once again underlines BMW Motorrads innovative lead – and not only in terms of safety.

The diverse optional extras make the K-1300-S even more individual. In particular, the new ESA II, which allows the rider to configure his chassis settings on the move, once again underlines BMW Motorrads innovative lead – and not only in terms of safety.

BMW K1200S 2008 Preview

The new 2008 K 1200 S is a synthesis of everything BMW has learned from decades of motorsport success and detailed motorcycle development. It is a sport model without precedent and devoid of compromise. The K 1200 S exists to define maximum performance with unprecedented sophistication and technology-enhanced safety measures. Yes, it accelerates aggressively enough to take your breath away-thanks to an all-new four-cylinder engine with 167 horsepower-but also embodies everything BMW has learned about rider comfort and safety.
The K 1200 S was designed as a sport bike and is a completely separate motorcycle within the K family. It is radically new, featuring an unprecedented number of innovations. It is a high-precision sport bike offering unique agility as well as enormous output. Its power to weight ratio is on the level with the competition and almost 50 percent better than the K 1200 RS, thus leaving no wishes unfulfilled with regard to riding performance.
The new K1200S is a bit of a conundrum. In terms of sportiness, its not quite the equal of a Hayabusa and ZX-12R, and if thats what you were expecting youll be a bit disappointed. So, what is the new K12? I was telling Duke that its a sportbike that doubles as a touring machine, while he was saying that it feels like a touring bike with excellent sporting ability. If thats not on target, folks, I dont know what is.
In the end, the $17,345 (as tested) BMW K1200S is a wonderful piece of machinery. It offers up a smooth and well-controlled ride to go along with some of the coolest technological tidbits used on any motorcycle in production today. If youre looking for a hyper-sport-tourer and youre willing to sacrifice a bit of (relative) high-end performance for comfort and exclusivity, then you need to get to your local dealer and lay hands on one the latest K bike from BMW Motorrad.
